Preparatory Division registration is open to youth with little to no previous musical experience. Students must be at least 5 years old, but some instruments require that students be older. Beginning band students must be at least 8 years old, and oboe/bassoon students should be in middle school. Please speak to GMYS staff for specific guidelines for each instrument, please call us at 305-667-4069 or email us for further information. Preparatory classes are held throughout the week at various community locations, please check the rehearsal page for rehearsal location listings.
Beginner Prep Classes are for Elementary and Middle School Students. Students can be older for oboe/bassoon, french horn, and percussion.
