Community Challenge I have joined the 550 young music students that participate in the Greater Miami Youth Symphony to challenge the community to meet our dedication to the arts and support our growth as musicians. Collectively, we will practice over 50,000 hours this 2009-10 performance season. We would like our friends, family, and the community at large to match our commitment to the arts by funding $1 for each hour that we practice. GMYS is a total community project. There are beginner classes for young children, a Young Mozarts beginner ensemble, a String Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and the advanced Symphony Orchestra. Help us fund much needed scholarships, instrument purchases and music supplies, and cover the costs of music conductors and coaches.
